1. Udemy

Udemy is a US-based online platform that is aimed at both students and professionals. It has over 50 million students and 57,000 instructors and offers courses in more than 65 different languages. Since it was set up, there have been more than 295 course sign ups- pretty impressive right? Udemy offers courses in web development, programming languages, graphic design, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, data science, SQL, blockchain and cryptocurrency, Java and C++ to name but a few. There are both free and paid for courses so you can expand your knowledge, regardless of your budget!

 

2. Skillshare

Another US-based learning community, Skillshare offers unaccredited courses in the form of videos, lectures, and interaction. The primary goal of learning through Skillshare is completing a project. There are some 27,000 premium classes and 2000 free classes available and members can join groups and engage in discussions, share work, and take skills to the next level through collaboration. You can take courses in advertising, business, design technology and gaming. Courses are self-paced and are often instructed by well-known industry leaders.

 

3. LinkedIn Learning

Everyone uses LinkedIn and if you aren’t, you should be. Now you can use LinkedIn Learning that gives you access to countless online courses that will help you develop your career prospects. There are short, beginner, and in-depth specialist training available on a range of different topics. You can then add certifications to your LinkedIn profile so you colleagues and potential employers can see what you've been up to.

 

4. Coursera

Coursera is one of the more popular platforms out there and is well regarded for its prestige and value. In collaboration with top universities around the world, including Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, University of London and Yonsei University. It has partnered with more than 200 global educational institutions and can offer actual degrees from that institution, not just a Coursera degree. Courses on offer include engineering, data science, machine learning, mathematics, computer science, digital marketing, and programming.

 

5. FutureLearn

Based in the UK, FutureLearn is one of the most affordable digital education platforms out there and it is partly owned by the Open University. It has over 143 UK and international partners including the University of Bristol, University of Exeter, King's College London, University of Leeds and St Andrews University. Courses are available in science and maths as well as AI and robotics, cyber security, coding and programming, game development and business technology.
